Three variations of the same house
Since moving to Ireland, where I am discovering new landscapes and a different way of inhabiting the world, my artistic work has taken a new direction. Paper Dublin, a project I had let sleep for a few years, has awakened naturally, nourished by the lights, architecture, memories and atmospheres of Dublin.
This research recently led me to create three variations of the same piece: The Green Lodge, inspired by the small superintendant’s lodge at the edge of St Stephen’s Green.
The Green Lodge n°1 — The Pastel Version

The first variation is a soft, colourful little house, with reinvented proportions, bathed in morning light. A calm pink, a clear blue, a vivid green: far from a documentary reproduction with exact proportions, and closer to a transmitted emotion, a shared memory. It forms the gateway to the series — an accessible, bright, intentionally simple piece.

The Green Lodge n°2 — The Austere Black-and-White Version

For the second variation, I removed almost all colour. This austerity transforms the house: it’s the same building, the same composition, but as if it suddenly reveals another facet of its character or history.
Everything becomes grey, a little darker, almost ink-like. A few flowers remain by the windows, and a cold sun (or a moon — who knows?). The atmosphere becomes truly more austere.

The Green Lodge n°3 — The Unique Monochrome Piece

The third variation takes this exploration even further — this time, the colours have completely vanished. I chose a cold grey, a pure monochrome. It gives the work a ghostlike quality: the house seems to fade away, perhaps because of the passing of time, while trees, mist, and clouds grow around it.
I am very fond of this direction for the project. It reminds me of old illustrations — black-and-white engravings on coloured paper.
A monochrome, ghostlike dream in a cold light, where everything emerges and draws itself through shadows, subtle or deep, revealing the paper’s intricate details.

It’s Just a Façade n°1
A more radical and critical series: the illuminated Georgian façade of Dublin hides a dark back room, buried in shadow.
