Galeries Lafayette Extrapolaire

Scénography / PAPER ART / VidEo / MusiC
A family of polar bears are force to flee their natural habitat and find refuge in a marvellous boat.
My assignment
Guest artist Christmas 2016. Artistic design of the 12 shop windows on Boulevard Haussmann in Paris, large fir tree, paper decors for the communication campaign and the magazine. Video and music creation for the windows.
Background
During one full year I drew, cut, glued, composed, filmed and explored all the poetry that is white paper for this unbelievable project that called upon a multitude of disciplines. That Christmas, Galeries Lafayette gave me full rein for this extraordinary professional and creative adventure.

A Collective Artwork

It was a collective effort that brought together hundreds of people, skills and technicians. Galeries Lafayette’s Christmas windows are an institution of Parisian department stores. Here I discovered the rich tradition and the specific knowledge of this establishment.
I had the honour to work alongside several teams: the Windows and Communication departments, legendary puppet-master Jean-Claude Dehix, the Bournillat workshop that make wonderful decors, the publishing house Éditions Jalou for the photographs in the magazine, the photographer Sølve Sundsbø for the advertising campaign…
